Drs. Appointment

We saw the doctor this morning and I actually had quite an experience. Whenever I'm told to strip and put on a paper gown at a doctors office for some reason my excitement level plummets quite a bit. I felt much better after talking to the doctor about my concerns and questions. He was very good about answering questions and he really put me at ease. I explained about my not so fun experience in the hospital and how I felt they hadn't really cared or followed any sort of birth plan I wanted, and how I felt the doctor on call didn't explain the procedures he was doing. He sat and discussed with me different options we had so I could have a better procedure, and said that he wouldn't have a problem if I went to see him every doctor appointment so that is what we're going to do.

Other Good news? The risk of tearing is less and less with each pregnancy. So he said the need for an episiotomy for a second pregnancy or needing a vacuum (which is why he gave us an episiotomy last time so we wouldn't have the risk of a 4th degree tear) - so hopefully I won't have to go through that again.

Some bad news? Babies have a tendency of being bigger babies than the first baby. Hmmm. That's just on average, so I know that is not always the case. But I'm really hoping my little baby decides to come early instead of waiting like Jack did. We also didn't get to go to our scheduled ultrasound, which was a major disappointment for me because that was the only thing that got me through all the pricking and prying and needles and embarrassing exposure. When I asked about the ultrasound the doctor came in and said it would be best just to wait until the next appointment so we could make sure the baby is growing correctly and take different measurements. So now we wait until Feb. to see our little baby again.
